Behind the scenes #4

DoP Barry Ackroyd (centre) walks through the blocking for the day's shoot. The scene was deceptively simple on the page. But when you take into account that one of the principle actors doesn't exist, everyone has to concentrate much harder.

Barry's involvement was invaluable. When we were trying to get the right framing for an awkward shot I made a suggestion, to which Barry quipped without hesitation, "Well, you could shoot it like that." Which was a very direct, yet polite way of calling bullshit. Which sums up his character nicely.
