Behind the scenes #7

DoP Barry Ackroyd tooling up. Barry's style was perfect for 'Dr. Easy', both aesthetically and practically.

Aesthetically, Barry's fly-on-the-wall approach to covering the action, as if a third party observer, framed the scenes with a realism that is unusual for films using CGI. The restless kinetics of his hand also leant the drama a 'live' urgency, which is exactly how the scenes were envisioned when we wrote them.

We shot everything on an Arri Alexa, and with the exception of one particular shot, all on the same zoom. So from a practical perspective, we could move fast - and boy did we need to!
